Book sales are generally held on the last weekend of the month in the basement of the Library
from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Book sale dates for 2019 are:
January 26 and 27
February 23 and 24
March 30 and 31
April 27 and 28
No book sale in May
June 29 and 30
July 27 and 28
August 24 and 25
September 28 and 29
October 26 and 27
November 23 and 24
December 14 and 15
The Friends receive ongoing book donations from residents to sell at the book sales. We
welcome and appreciate donations. All donations will be accepted at the front Circulation Desk.
Please do not drop items in the Book Return. Items left outside or in the Book Return will be
Acceptable Items for Donation
Hardcover and paperback books in good condition, both fiction and non-fiction for children, teens and adults.
DVDs, CD audio books and music. CDs and DVDs must be in good condition and in their original containers. (NO DUPLICATED DVDs and/or CDs will be accepted).
Books about Plainsboro Township or New Jersey in good condition
Materials We Cannot Use
Technology, health, travel, finance or technical books over 3 years old.
Materials discarded from other libraries.
Computer software or computer manuals.
Books that have been highlighted, written in, stained, pages/covers torn or missing;
books showing any sign of mold or insect damage will automatically be sent to recycling
Encyclopedias, condensed books (such as Reader’s Digest).
Tape cassettes, damaged CDs or DVDs. All non-print items must be in their original
cartons. All duplicated non-print items will be discarded per copyright laws.
Once items are donated, they become the sole property of the Friends of Plainsboro Public Library. No
items will be returned to the donor. Donors may not set conditions on the Friends of the Plainsboro
PublicLibrary as to how the donated items will be used. In addition to the donated materials, all bags,
containers, etc. that are used to deliver the items will be the property of the Friends of the Plainsboro
Public Library. All donations are final.
We are happy to provide a written receipt, upon request, that donations were received, however, as per
IRS Tax Laws, we are prohibited from appraising the monetary value of donations.
